Actor Coaching / Teaching
Cherise began her coaching and teaching track by co-leading workshops for guests on board a six-star luxury cruise ship that traveled around the world; this was in combination with co-directing and acting in theatrical productions during her Repertory Theatre at Sea contracts. Upon moving to Belgium, she continued in this vein by teaching English as a second language with multiple organisations, including Linguapolis at the University of Antwerp. In addition to having taught English in private and classroom settings, Cherise offered and continues to offer private dialect and acting/audition coaching sessions.
Having taught workshops at Flanders Acting Studio in Brussels and The Actors Centre in London, Cherise greatly enjoys working with (and learning from) talented actors from around the world. She loves to find the joy in each performer and assist them in using their talent and skills to give the best performance possible for themselves as well as for their audience. Drawing from the lessons of her mentors and the methods of Stanislavski, Laban, Meisner, Shurtleff, Skinner and more, Cherise tailors each workshop and coaching to suit the needs of the actors involved. Continuously studying different methods and passing them on in her teaching, she fully believes an actor's art is best served with a varied and loaded "toolbox" from which to pull.
